Read Anywhere™ allows physicians to review clinical image
studies that were acquired within their practice, from home or anywhere
else with an Internet connection. The images are transferred in diagnostic
quality. The technician performing the study merely forwards the study
to a Communicator
Gateway,
either directly from the imaging modality or from an existing PACS system.
The Communicator Gateway automatically
uploads the study via the Internet to the Communicator
Central Server where the study becomes immediately
available to authorized physicians using a Communicator
Workstation,
regardless of their location.
On-call no longer means an early morning trip to the imaging center or clinic. Even when traveling, you can easily review critical patient studies wherever there is an Internet connection, eliminating any worry about being away from your practice.
The Communicator Workstation is easily installed on a laptop or home computer and provides full diagnostic capability. For example, there is a comprehensive Cardiology Measurement and Reporting Package that is easily customizable and extensible to meet the current and future needs of a practice. These advanced capabilities enable the physician to perform advanced diagnostic review and reporting away from the practice. The Communicator technology has received FDA 510k clearance and fully supports the HIPAA guidelines for managing the security of patient information.
Peer Review/Accreditation
The regulation of some clinical imaging specialties may require individuals and practices to undergo the process of accreditation in order to provide approved diagnostic imaging services. This process mandates that a certain number of diagnostic imaging studies be reviewed by a designated, previously accredited imaging center.
Communicator simplifies the accreditation process by providing easy digital transport of imaging studies to the designated review center via the Internet. Accreditation is supported by any of the Communicator solutions with Read Anywhere™ capability.

Benefits
- Drastically reduces the need to travel back to the office to review and report on urgent patient studies, saving time and money as well as improving patient care.
- Physicians can demonstrate their “high availability” for urgent cases out of office hours and thus capture more patients for their practice; resulting in increased revenues.
