Image Management / PACS

Small Practices

Smaller practices wishing to transition to digital image management using DICOM based protocols can do so economically using Communicator Basic Edition™. Images can be sent directly from the modality to Communicator Basic Server over a local area network using DICOM protocols and reviewed on the integrated Communicator Workstation

Communicator Basic supports a maximum of 2 modality inputs, such as ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and a single review workstation. However, it can be easily and economically expanded as your practice grows. In those cases where the high up front cost of a PACS system is difficult to justify, such as in small community clinics, Connex MD solutions can provide traditional PACS functionality at a fraction of the cost.

We also offer optional Read Anywhere™  capability, where the imaging data remains on your local server but selected studies can be forwarded to a central server for distribution to remote review workstations and optional archiving. You choose which studies are forwarded and accessible to authorized users outside of your facility. No incoming connections and attendant data security issues.

Larger Practices

Larger practices wishing to manage and store clinical images using DICOM standard formats and protocols can do so cost effectively by using a Communicator Server and any number of Communicator Workstations. Communicator Server supports up to 10 modalities such as ultrasound, CT or MR. Images can be sent directly from the modality to Communicator Server over a local area network using DICOM protocols.

For any size practice, the addition of the optional Read Anywhere™ capability makes patient studies available to the physician at home, practically eliminating the need for travel to the practice when on-call etc. The technician performing the study only has to select the relevant study and upload it to the Communicator Central Server for the study to be available to the reading physician.

The optional on-line archiving service provides a very cost effective way to store imaging study data to meet the legal requirements without the headaches associated with shelf management of CD and DVD or the costs of local archive hardware.
